Hallo! Or Hello / Ni Hao / Vanakkam / Helo as we would say in the four official languages of Singapore.
Since January I have been working as a lecturer for the German Academic Exchange Service at the NUS Centre for Language Studies where I teach German as a Foreign Language to students from all faculties. The fascinating multicultural work environment and the highly motivated students are a unique experience. I can already say that I like it a lot!
From 2014 to 2018 I worked as a lecturer for the German Academic Exchange Service in the German Department at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil). I loved the interesting, multi-faceted, and self-determined work; and therefore, after two years of working at the Department of German Studies at the University of Regensburg, I have decided to go out again and work in Singapore.
Singapore is definitely an interesting place to be, especially for someone like me who loves conducting research in the field of multilingualism. At the NUS Centre for Language Studies, my main task is to inform the students about the various study and research opportunities in Germany and preparing them linguistically and interculturally for their potential stay at a German University.
I am happy to join the DAAD-Team in Singapore to help promote the academic relations between Germany and Singapore by developing interesting projects.
